Ingredients

  • 10 - dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp - coriander/dhania
  • 1 pinch - cumin seeds
  • 10 - peppercorns
  • 4 - medium onions
  • 1 ball - tamarind
  • 2 pods whole - garlic
  • 2 tbsp - cooking oil
  • 3 tsp - salt
  • 6 - mackerels

How to Make Losun Mirin Mackerels

  • Grind dry red chillies, coriander, cumin seeds, peppercorns, onions, tamarind and 1 whole pod garlic.
  • For seasoning:
  • Heat cooking oil in a vessel, add the remaining smashed garlic.
  • Fry until brown and add the ground masala.
  • For curry:
  • Add water used to wash the masala from the mixer to the fried masala and bring it to a boil.
  • Add fish and salt to taste.
  • Simmer for about five minutes, or until the fish is cooked.
  • Turn off the flame and keep the lid closed for about half an hour.
