How to Make Maacher bora chop

  • In a food processor, put the fish fillets, eggs, turmeric, salt, chilli powder, lemon juice, garlic and ginger paste and cumin powder.
  • Pulse grind the fish with the ingredients.
  • The ground fish should not be fine like a paste but coarse.
  • Add the chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves and besan.
  • Mix them well into the coarse ground fish.
  • Form little discs about 1 cm wide and 2 inch in diameter.
  • Deep fry until the fish cakes/bora are golden brown.
  • Serve hot with tangy dips or sauce.
