  • 500 g white fish fillets
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp besan
  • 1/2 cup chopped Onion
  • 2 tsp Garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped Green chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry
  • How to Make Maacher bora chop:

    1. In a food processor, put the fish fillets, eggs, turmeric, salt, chilli powder, lemon juice, garlic and ginger paste and cumin powder.
    2. Pulse grind the fish with the ingredients.
    3. The ground fish should not be fine like a paste but coarse.
    4. Add the chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves and besan.
    5. Mix them well into the coarse ground fish.
    6. Form little discs about 1 cm wide and 2 inch in diameter.
    7. Deep fry until the fish cakes/bora are golden brown.
    8. Serve hot with tangy dips or sauce.
