If there is one vegetarian pasta recipe that people of all ages enjoy, its Macaroni masala. The Macaroni pasta is a mouth-watering recipe cooked in a particularly Indian way with specific masalas and spice powders. This quick recipe works great as a breakfast recipe since it can be whipped up in a matter of minutes. However, it’s a great adult and kid friendly recipe that works great as a lunch or dinner meal as well. Moreover, Macaroni as a pasta is one of the most versatile ones because it can be cooked into a variety of dishes and cooks in a matter of five minutes or less.


In order to make Macaroni Masala pasta, add onion in a pan with heated oil and sauté for 2 minutes until the onions turn brown. Then, add the chopped pieces of capsicum and sauté them also for about 2 minutes. After both have been sautéed for a while, add the other veggies such as finely chopped cabbage and let it cook on medium heat until the cabbage becomes a little tender. Next, the tomatoes need to be added and fried and cooked until the oil separates from the mixture. After the mixture is cooked, add pepper, salt, chilli sauce and tomato sauce, and vinegar to spice up the mixture. After the entire mixture has been cooked, add the macaroni in the end and mix well. Let the water evaporate and serve the pasta hot!

  • Macaroni - 1 cup (boiled and drained)
  • Onion - 1 (Chopped in long slices)
  • Capsicum - 1/2
  • Cabbage - 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Tomato - 1
  • Vinegar - 1 tsp
  • Tomato sauce - 1 tsp
  • Chili sauce - 1 tsp
  • Salt and Pepper - as per taste
  • Oil - 1 tbsp

How to Make Macroni Masala

  • In a pan, heat oil, add onion.
  • for 2 min.
  • Add capsicum.
  • Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add cabbage and let it cook on medium heat till it becomes tender.
  • Add tomatoes and saute it till oil is separated.
  • Add vinegar, tomato sauce and chili sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Add macaroni.
  • Let extra water evaporate and serve hot.
