Steam the Maida flour in cooker for 2 whistles or in microwave for 8 minutes without adding water with the flour.
Mix urad dal powder, steamed maida flour, butter, salt, asafetida powder, sesame seeds and make a dough out of this by adding small quantity of water.
Keep the dough aside for 20-30 minutes.
Fill the mullu murruku (Chakli) press with the dough.
Heat oil in a kadai and when the oil is hot, press the dough onto the oil.
Cook to a light golden colour or until the hissing sound ceases.
Remove and drain it on a kitchen paper towel.
Store it in a dry airtight container.
