How to Make Makai Frankie

  • Method for making patties:
  • Boil corn kernels (you can use fresh corn too, boil it and remove kernels).
  • Mash the kernels well.
  • Add boiled potatoes, ginger-garlic paste and spices.
  • Take the mixture and make a small patties out of it and shallow fry them and keep aside.
  • Method for making frankie:
  • Make a dough out of maida, salt and water like the chapatti dough.
  • Roll into small chapattis.
  • Roast them on a tava on both sides.
  • You can also use tortillas if you want.
  • Method for making chutney: Prepare mint chutney by mixing chutney ingredients and grinding it.
  • To make the makai frankie:
  • Take a roti and spread mint chutney on it.
  • Place 2 patties in between, mash a little and add some chopped onion (optional).
  • Roll the roti by joining both ends and shallow fry them till it is crisp on both sides .
  • While serving, cut the frankie into halves and serve with chutney.
  • You can also serve it with tamarind chutney.
