Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Maize flour (Yellow cornmeal)
  • 2-3 - Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tbsp - Curd
  • 1/2 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/8 tsp - Baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Oil to Deep Fried.

How to Make Makai Vada

  • Combine all the ingredients in a big mixing bowl.
  • Mix well to make a hard batter by adding water as required.
  • Cover with a cling wrap and keep it aside for an hour.
  • Apply water on both your palms and take a spoonful of batter to form a tikki shape.
  • Now heat oil in a deep-frying pan.
  • Slide the tikkis into a pan, add 4-5 at a time.
  • Deep Fried till golden brown and crisp on both the sides.
  • Serve hot with chutney.
