  • 1 kg - American Corn (boiled and chopped)
  • 1 litre Milk
  • 200 gms - whole dried mava
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 tsp - Ghee
  • 1/2 cup - mixed dry fruits (sliced)
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder

How to Make Makaika halwa

  • Take milk and chopped corn in a heavy bottom kadai/deep saucepan and bring to boil.
  • Cook over medium heat until the milk dries up.
  • Keep stirring the mixture occasionally to prevent charring.
  • Add sugar, cardamom powder and 1/4 cup of dry fruits and stir continuously for 5-7 mins.
  • Add ghee and mava. Stir well and fry on low heat until ghee starts separating.
  • Garnish with remaining dry fruits and serve hot.
