Ingredients

  • 500 g - paneer/cottage cheese cubes
  • 1 - sliced Onion
  • 1/4 cup - Milk
  • 1.5 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • To be ground to a paste:
  • 2 cups - chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Mint leaves
  • 2 to 3 - Green chillies
  • 1 inch piece - Ginger
  • 1/4 cup - cashew nuts, broken
  • 1/4 cup - Curd
  • 1 tbsp - Lime juice
  • To taste - salt
  • How to Make Makhmali Paneer:

    1. Grind coriander leaves, mint leaves, chillies, ginger, cashew nuts, curd, salt and lime juice, to form a fine paste.
    2. Mix this mixture with paneer and keep aside, for at least 15 minutes.
    3. Heat butter and oil in a pan and saute, till the onions are translucent.
    4. Add the marinated paneer and toss carefully, till the raw smell goes.
    5. Add milk and simmer, till the gravy thickens.
    6. Sprinkle the garam masala and mix well.
    7. Switch off heat and transfer to a serving dish.
    8. Serve hot with roti or any Indian bread.
