Ingredients

  • 100 gm - whole masoor
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 1/2 cup - coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp - plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp - red chili powder
  • 1 - onion, grated
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 1 cup - bread crumbs
  • salt to taste

How to Make Malika Kabab

  • Soak lentils for 2-3 hours.
  • In a pan place lentils, onions and ginger.
  • Add 1/2 cup water and boil till it is cooked (the lentils are softened between fingers under a light pressure).
  • Add spices and mash. Allow to cool.
  • Make round patties (kabab).
  • Cover with beaten egg mixture then roll in bread crumbs.
  • Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
  • Decorate with finely chopped lettuce.
  • Serve with tomato sauce or mint chutney.
