Ingredients

  • Grated unripe Mango - 1 cup
  • Basmati Rice - 2 Cups
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
  • Jaggery - 1/2 tsp
  • Bengal Gram - 1/4 tsp
  • Peppercorn - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 3-4
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • For Seasoning:
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafetida - 1 pinch
  • Turmeric - 1 pinch
  • Urad Dal -1/4 tsp
  • Bengal Gram dal -1/4 tsp
  • Groundnuts - 2 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • How to Make Mango Chitranna:

    1. Cook basmati rice and keep it aside.
    2. Dry roast the dals, cumin seeds and pepper corns. Powder them in a blender.
    3. Add the remaining ingredients and blend it thoroughly to a paste-like consistency.
    4. Heat oil in a pan and add the seasoning ingredients.
    5. Mix the cooked rice with the seasoning and the paste thoroughly.
    6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
