Ingredients

  • 250 g - refined flour or maida
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 250 g - butter
  • 300 g - sugar powdered
  • 4 tsp - milk
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 3 - eggs, beaten well
  • 2 tbsp - coca powder

How to Make Marble Cake

  • Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together.
  • Cream the butter and sugar well.
  • Gradually add the eggs and mix well.
  • Add the vanilla essence.
  • Fold in the flour slowly.
  • Add milk if the mixture is too thick.
  • Divide the mixture into 2 portions.
  • Mix the cocoa powder with a tsp of milk and pour alternate tbspfuls of the plain and chocolate mixture into the papered cake tin, till both mixtures are used up.
  • Bake the marble cake in a moderate oven for about 1 hour .
