  • Water - as required
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 2 tbsp - tea leaves
  • 2 - Star anise
  • How to Make Marbled Tea Eggs:

    1. Boil the eggs in water, for 10 minutes. Let it cool.
    2. Drain the water and wipe dry the eggs with a cloth.
    3. Tap the eggs lightly with the back of a spoon to make even designs on the shell. Do not peel the shells off.
    4. Take enough water in a pan to cover the eggs.
    5. Put the tea leaves, salt and star anise into the water. Bring it to a boil.
    6. Carefully, place the eggs into the boiling water. Reduce the heat to low.
    7. Let it simmer for 1/2 an hour.
    8. Switch off the heat. Leave the eggs in the same liquid for an hour.
    9. Let it cool. Take the eggs off the water and peel off the shell.
    10. Your marbled tea eggs are ready to be presented. The eggs taste just like, the normally boiled eggs.
