Ingredients

  • 1 loaf - bread, cut into small pieces
  • 3 - medium-sized onions, finely chopped
  • 2 - medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 - green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp - coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - dhania
  • 1/4 tsp - jeera powder
  • salt to taste
  • a pinch of turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin seeds

How to Make Masala Bread Upma

  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
  • When the seeds splutter, add the cumin seeds and a pinch of turmeric powder.
  • Add the onions and fry until golden.
  • Add the green chillies, dhania and jeera powder and fry.
  • Add the tomatoes and chilli powder and fry just a bit.
  • Toss the bread pieces in, add salt to taste and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
