How to Make Masala Kichadi

  • Fry the rava in a pan with a little oil or ghee.
  • Make a paste of garlic, green chillies, cardamom, clove, and cinnamon in mixie.
  • Heat the oil in a kadai and splutter the mustard.
  • Add the cut onion with a pinch of salt and saute in a low flame till it turns golden brown
  • Add the tomatoes and saute for some time after increasing the flame
  • Add turmeric powder and saute well
  • Add the ground masala and saute well till the raw smell of the masala goes.
  • Add 2.5 cups of water and boil it
  • Add the rawa, mix it well, lower the flame and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves, curry leaves and 1 tbsp ghee.
