Ingredients

  • 1 cups - all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp - semolina
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/4 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - black sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - carom seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder, optional
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder, optional
  • 2 tsp - chopped coriander leaves, or a mix of Mint and coriander
  • 1/4 cup + 3 tbsp - lukewarm water
  • Oil to fry

How to Make Masala Mathri

  • In a wide bowl, mix all the ingredients except the water.
  • Add the water little by little at a time to make a stiff dough, kneading into a firm dough.
  • Divide the dough into about 20 - 22 equal parts.
  • Take each part of the dough and roll them into 2 inch circles.
  • Prick the circle with a fork in 5 to 6 places, so that it do not puff while frying.
  • Deep Fried this until both sides are a light golden-brown.
  • Drain out and serve hot.
