How to Make Masala Pesarattu

  • Soak the moong dal in water for about 4 to 5 hours.
  • Drain the water from the dal and add ginger, coriander, curry leaves, cumin seeds and salt.
  • Make a batter of these ingredients, but let it be coarse and not fine.
  • Heat the tava and spread the batter on it, just as would for a dosa.
  • Sprinkle a few drops of oil over it and sprinkle the chopped onions.
  • After it turns golden brown, remove from the tava and serve hot.
  • Repeat.
