Ingredients

  • 1 - Pomfret
  • 2 - small onions, sliced
  • 1 - tomato, chopped finely
  • 6 - green chillies, ground
  • 3 - Garlic flakes, ground
  • 1 inch ginger, ground
  • 1/2 cup - Coconut Milk
  • Salt as per taste
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • Grind to a paste:
  • 1 tsp - Coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 5 - black peppers
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 2 tsp - coriander
  • 1/4 tsp - bottle masala (optional)
  • How to Make Masala Pomfret:

    1. Cut the pomfret into small pieces.
    2. Marinate it with salt and keep aside for 20 minutes.
    3. Heat the oil, and fry the onions till golden brown.
    4. Add the ginger-garlic-green-chillies paste and stir for a minute.
    5. Add tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes.
    6. Add the ground paste and simmer for 1 minute.
    7. Add a little water and let it boil for 2 minutes.
    8. Add coconut milk, and when it starts boiling, add the marinated pieces.
    9. Let it cook till done.
    10. Serve hot with rice.
