Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - mutton, washed and cut into medium pieces
  • For ground masala (roast the ingredients with a few drops of oil and grind into a fine paste):
  • 2 tbsp - coconut, either desiccated or fresh
  • 4 - garlic
  • 2 - tomatoes, medium
  • 1/2 inch - ginger piece
  • Other ingredients:
  • 2 - onions, cut length wise
  • 3 to 4 tsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - haldi powder
  • 2 tsp - dhania powder
  • 1.5 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1.5 tsp - garam masala powder
  • To taste - salt
  • few - coriander leaves

How to Make Masaledar Mutton Curry

  • Take a pressure cooker and heat the oil.
  • When it is hot, add the cut onions and lightly fry till golden colour.
  • Now add the ground masala paste and all the powders mentioned in the ingredients.
  • Keep stirring, till the oil starts separating from the masala.
  • Now add the mutton, and enough water, for the meat to cook.
  • Keep the cooker, till it gives at least 8 to 9 whistles.
  • Remove from fire and add coriander leaves for garnishing.
