Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes, boiled, peeled, chopped
  • 1 cup - coconut, grated
  • 1 tbsp - tamarind pulp
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 4 red chillies
  • 1 tbsp - coriander seeds
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 tsp - black gram (urad) dal
  • 4 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 5 curry leaves
  • Salt and sugar to taste

How to Make Masaledar potatoes

  • In one tsp oil, fry coriander seeds, cloves, urad dal and red chillies.
  • Grind with coconut, tamarind and turmeric to a paste.
  • Heat remaining oil.
  • Add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • When they pop, add potatoes and the paste.
  • Add salt and sugar.
  • Simmer once.
  • Serve with rotis.
