Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Raw Rice (wash and keep aside)
  • 1/4 cup - Masoor Dal (wash and keep aside)
  • 3 - Cardamoms
  • 3 - Cloves
  • 2 - Pieces of Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp - Oil or Ghee
  • 2 tbsp - Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Mint leaves
  • 1 - Bay leaf.
  • How to Make Masoor Dal Kichdi:

    1. Heat oil in a vessel and fry the whole spices and bay leaves for 2 minutes.
    2. Add the ginger garlic paste, chilli powder and saute for a few minutes.
    3. Add the washed rice, dal and stir fry for a few minutes.
    4. Now add the coriander leaves, mint, salt and 3 cups of water and cook till done.
    5. Serve with curd or any curry and pickle.
