Ingredients

  • 400 gm - chick peas (soaked for 12 hours)
  • 250 gm - lamb (cut into small pieces)
  • 3 large Onions
  • 4 tbsp - margarine
  • 3 large Tomatoes
  • 5 glasses water
  • 2 red peppers
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • How to Make Meat and Peas (Kiymali Nohut):

    1. Saute margarine and chopped onions for 5 minutes.
    2. Add the meat and continue to saute until the meat simmers.
    3. Add the peeled and chopped tomatoes, the red peppers, water and salt.
    4. Cook for 45 minutes over low heat.
    5. Boil chickpeas for about 30 minutes.
    6. Add the boiled chickpeas to the cooking meat and cook until the chickpeas become tender.
    7. Place on a serving dish and serve.
