Ingredients

  • 1 cup - basmati Rice
  • 2 - Onions for paste
  • 1/2 cup - green masala (grind Mint leaves, coriander leaves, garlic, Coconut and Green chillies as per your taste)
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 8 tbsp - oil/ghee
  • 1 to 1.5 cup - kabuli channa, soaked in water for 6 hours and then pressure cooked
  • 1 - 1.5 cups - water
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp - Lemon juice
  • Tomato and Onion slices for garnishing

How to Make Meenu`s Channa Pulao

  • Soak the rice in water for 15 mins.
  • Drain all the water and fry the rice in a pan with 2 tbsp of ghee for 5 mins.
  • Heat 8 tbsp of ghee/oil in a pressure cooker and add the onion paste.
  • Fry till it becomes light brown.
  • Add the green masala, cooked Kabuli channa, water, salt, turmeric powder and fried rice.
  • Cook this mixture for one whistle.
  • Garnish with sliced onions and tomatoes.
  • Pour 1 tbsp of lemon juice while serving.
