  • 1.5 cups - Maida
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • 1 tbsp - oil (for dough)
  • Oil - 4 tbsp
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • 2 cups - Milk
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • Sliced Almonds (fried)
  • How to Make Meethay Ghoday - A Hyderabadi Special:

    1. Take the flour, salt, oil in a bowl.
    2. Add a little water at a time to make a dough.
    3. Cover with a damp towel and keep aside for half an hour.
    4. Then knead again for few minutes until the dough turns smooth, firm and pliable.
    5. Divide the dough into 3 equal-sized pieces, roll a piece as a ball between your palms.
    6. Using a rolling pin, roll each ball into a disc.
    7. Make the discs as thin as possible and use less flour to roll them thinly.
    8. Cut the dough as small squares with a knife.
    9. Shape each square into a flower and continue until the dough gets finished.
    10. Leave the flower-shaped dough on the tray for at least 6 hours or overnight.
    11. Next day, heat oil for frying. Once the oil is hot, fry the dried flower shaped dough until they turn crispy.
    12. In a heavy bottomed pan, take the milk, water and heat it, add the fried flowers and cook on simmer for 15 minutes until they turn soft.
    13. Finally add the sugar and mix.
    14. Add more water if needed and cook them for few more minutes.
    15. Once done, add the shallow fried sliced almonds.
    16. Serve at room temperature.
