Methi Carrot Pulao is a simple yet delicious pulao recipe that can be made at your home. This vegetarian dish is mostly served in lunch as main.

The nutrition of methi and carrot makes it for a healthy recipe that can be served to the kids especially. It can be cooked like any other pulao and you can learn how to make it perfectly at home with our recipe guide.

The goodness of methi combine with that of carrot into a pulao along with handful of spices and condiments. It can be made in a pressure cooker and will be ready in no time for your lunch meal.


  • 2 cups - Cooked Basmati Rice (salt added while cooking)
  • 3 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1 cup - Chopped fresh Methi leaves
  • 1 cup - Carrots, cut into thin strip
  • 2 tsp - Curry powder
  • 2 pinches salt
  • How to Make Methi Carrot Pulao:

    1. Heat half the quantity of the ghee and add the methi leaves. Stir until the leaves shrink in size.
    2. Then add the carrots and cook on low flame, adding salt to taste.
    3. Cook till the carrot pieces are slightly cooked but not very tender.
    4. Mix in the rice and the curry powder. Add 2 tbsp. of water.
    5. Cover with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
    6. Serve the pulao with raita as a full nutritious meal.
