Ingredients

  • apples - 500 gms, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
  • oil - 4 tbsp
  • Shallots - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 tbsp, minced
  • Ginger - 2 tbsp, minced
  • chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • black pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 cup
  • dark soya sauce - 1 tsp
  • Vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • MSG - 1/2 tsp, optional
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Microwave Devilled Apples:

    1. Combine all the ingredients from oil to ginger in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on 'High' for 4-5 minutes, stirring twice.
    2. Add all the powders and cook for 2 minutes.
    3. Add water and apples.
    4. Cover and microwave on 'High' for 3-4 minutes.
    5. Add rest of the ingredients and cook for 2 more minutes.
    6. Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
