How to Make Microwave Vatral Kuzhambu

  • Add the tamarind ball in 1/4 cup of water in a microwave dish.
  • Cover it with a lid and cook on medium flame for 2 minutes.
  • Allow it to cool down to room temperature.
  • Then extract tamarind juice from it.
  • In a microwave dish, add cooking oil, mustard seeds, urad dal and channa dal, pieces of red chilli.
  • Cover it and cook on 'high' for 2 minutes.
  • As soon as it is over, add vatral, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  • Add sambhar powder to it.
  • Stir well.
  • Cover it and cook on 'medium' for a minute.
  • Then add tamarind juice and salt.
  • Cover it and cook on 'high' for 4 minutes.
  • Dissolve corn flour in 1 tsp of water and add it to kuzhambu.
  • Stir well.
