Ingredients

  • 8 oz - mushrooms (about 12 mushrooms)
  • 3 slices - bacon, chopped
  • 1/3 cup - finely chopped green onions
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/2 cup - whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper
  • 2 to 4 drops - red pepper sauce
  • 1 tbsp - flour
  • 2 tbsp - shredded Cheddar cheese

How to Make Microwaved Stuffed Mushrooms

  • Wash the mushrooms. Remove the stems and chop them finely.
  • Place mushroom caps on a paper towel in a microwave safe plate and microwave at medium-high for 1 - 1.5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Place bacon in medium - sized bowl and microwave on high until crisp (about 3 - 4 minutes), then drain the fat.
  • Add chopped mushroom stems, onions, salt, pepper, and red pepper sauce.
  • Microwave at high until mushrooms and onions are tender (about 2 - 4.5 minutes)
  • Blend in flour and stir in cream until smooth. Reduce power to medium - high and microwave until thickened and smooth - about 2 - 4 minutes - stirring once or twice during cooking time.
  • Stir in cheese. Fill each mushroom cap with bacon mixture.
  • Place around outer edge of a pie plate or dinner plate and microwave at high until cheese melts - about 1 - 2 minutes. Serve warm.
