Ingredients

  • minced mutton - ½ kg
  • raw peanuts - 150 gm
  • grated coconut - ½ cup
  • ginger - 1 tsp, chopped
  • garlic - 1 tsp, chopped
  • chili powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - ½ tsp
  • cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • cinnamon 2 cm pieces
  • onion - 1 cup, sliced finely
  • lime juice - 2 tbsp
  • oil - 3 tbsp
  • cloves 2cardamom 2
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • salt to taste

How to Make Minced Meat and Peanut Curry

  • Grind coconut, ginger and garlic to a smooth paste and mix with chili, turmeric, cumin and coriander powders.
  • Heat oil; add cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
  • Fry for few seconds.
  • Add onion and fry till it is light brown.
  • Add minced mutton and fry till is brown and dry.
  • Add the coconut and spice paste, fry till fragrant.
  • Add peas and about 11.5 cup water.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Cover and simmer till mutton and peanuts are cooked and the gravy is very thick.
  • Remove from fire, stir in the lime juice.
  • Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
