Ingredients

  • 500 ml - milk, preferably full Cream
  • 50 g - Brown sugar or to taste
  • 1.5 tbsp - curds
  • How to Make Mishti Doi:

    1. Bring milk to boil. Pour into a microwave-safe dish. Microwave at 100% power for 10 mins, stirring twice.
    2. If your dish is not deep enough and the milk spills over, you could consider cooking at a lower power level for a few extra minutes.
    3. Add the sugar, you may use plain sugar but it will not give you the characteristic beige colour of this dish.
    4. Microwave at the same power level for 1 minute more. Stand 10 mins or till the milk is lukewarm.
    5. In a bowl, smear the curds. Pour in the milk stirring constantly. Leave to set.
    6. Serve chilled.
