Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - raw Rice
  • 1/4 cup - split moong dal
  • 1/4 cup - Channa dal
  • 1/4 cup - masoor dal and Toor Dal
  • 1 cup - Milk
  • 1 cup - Milkmaid
  • 2 cups - Sugar
  • 3 tsp - Ghee
  • 2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 10 - cashews
  • 2 tbsp - grated Coconut
  • How to Make Mixed Dal Paayasam:

    1. Pressure-cook the dals with rice, 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of water (up to 3 hisses).
    2. Coarsely grind the dal-rice mixture with a hand blender.
    3. Add sugar and Milkmaid. When the mixture starts boiling, put the flame on simmer and cook for a while.
    4. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashew pieces brownish.
    5. Add the cardamom powder, fried cashew pieces and ghee to the dal-rice mixture. Turn off the flame.
    6. Add the grated coconut to the mixed dal paayasam.
