Ingredients

  • 1 - Potato
  • 1 big - Onion
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped fine
  • 3-4 vegetables like cauliflower, bhendi, beans (choice depends)
  • Coriander leaves chopped finely
  • 3 - Cloves
  • 2 tsps. Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 2-3 - Bay Leaves
  • 1 cup - tur dal or mix dal (tur, masoor, mung, urad dals)
  • 2-3 - Green chillies slit length wise
  • 1 small piece - Ginger crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • Seasoning: mustard, Jeera
  • 2-3 Cloves of Garlic crushed
  • How to Make Mixed vegetable in dal:

    1. Pressure cook the vegetables, cloves, ginger and dal up to 2 whistles; allow it cool.
    2. Mix all the masala powders in a small cup.
    3. Now add salt to the pressure cooked dal and vegetable mixture.
    4. Put the dal and vegetable mixture in a kadai, add the masala powder and let it boil for 10 to 15 minutes.
    5. Once the dal and vegetable mix boils with the masala and starts giving out a flavour, season it with mustard, jeera and crushed garlic cloves.
    6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
    7. You must see that the dal and vegetables are not over-cooked.
