Ingredients

  • Coconut-half piece grated
  • Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chillies - 5-6
  • Asafoetida - A pinch
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Raw Rice - 2 tsp (soaked)
  • Split Gram - 1 cup
  • Vegetables:
  • Carrot, cauliflower, peas, potato, French beans. Raw groundnut seeds (1/4 cup)
  • How to Make Mixed Veggies Kootu:

    1. Pressure cook the split gram and keep aside.
    2. Cook all the washed and diced vegetables.
    3. Grind all the above-mentioned ingredients to a smooth paste and add to the vegetables and stir and also add the cooked split gram.
    4. Add the required amount of salt and mix well.
    5. After 10 minutes, remove from fire and add garnishing of curry leaves and a pinch of asafetida in ghee.
    6. Serve hot with rice or chapattis.
