Ingredients

  • 50 g - yellow moong dal
  • 200 g - French beans, diced
  • 1 cup - coriander leaves
  • 3 to 4 - garlic pods
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - cumin
  • Oil for cooking

How to Make Moong Beans

  • Soak the moong dal for 1/2 hour.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add the crushed garlic, and cumin. When the seeds splutter add chopped onion and saute.
  • When onion turns brown, add the salt and all the spices.
  • Mix well and add the moong and beans.
  • Add 1/2 cup water, cover and cook.
  • When the beans are cooked remove onto a plate and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with paratha or roti.
