How to Make

  • Boil moong dal with some turmeric powder in a pressure cooker and keep aside.
  • Take two to three tsps. of oil in a frying pan and add mustard seeds.
  • When the seeds splutter, add ginger, green chillies and onions, and fry until onions turn golden brown.
  • Add 1 to 2 tsp of curry powder and fry for a minute or two.
  • Now add the cooked moong dal, water, salt, tomato and let the mixture simmer for a couple of minutes.
  • When the tomatoes are cooked turn off the heat.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves. This dal tastes delicious with hot chappattis or rice.
