Ingredients

  • 1 cup - whole Moong
  • 2 cups - Poha
  • 2 - Onions
  • 2 - Tomatoes
  • 4 - Green chillies
  • 1 inch piece - Ginger
  • 2 Cloves - Garlic
  • 1 cup - peanuts, coarsely powdered
  • 1 cup - grated Coconut
  • 1- small bunch coriander
  • A few Curry leaves
  • 2 - Cardamom
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 1/2 cup - cooking oil
  • 2 to 3 tbsp - Ghee
  • salt
  • How to Make Moong Poha:

    1. Soak moong overnight.
    2. Drain and put the moong in a wet muslin cloth to sprout - sprout them well.
    3. Clean wash and drain the poha.
    4. Keep it for 1/2 hr to soften.
    5. Grind the onions, tomatoes, ginger, green chilly and garlic to a fine paste.
    6. Fry and powder the cardamom and cloves.
    7. Heat oil, add the ground masala and fry well.
    8. When the oil separates add ghee.
    9. When ghee melts, add poha and salt.
    10. Mix well. Add sprouted gram.
    11. Mix well and cook for 2 mins.
    12. Take off the fire.
    13. Add peanut powder, grated coconut, finely chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves.
    14. Mix well add the powdered spices.
    15. Serve hot with fried papads.
