Ingredients

  • 1 cup - whole Moong
  • 2 cups - Poha
  • 2 - onions
  • 2 - tomatoes
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 1 inch piece - ginger
  • 2 cloves - garlic
  • 1 cup - peanuts, coarsely powdered
  • 1 cup - grated coconut
  • 1- small bunch coriander
  • A few curry leaves
  • 2 - cardamom
  • 2 - cloves
  • 1/2 cup - cooking oil
  • 2 to 3 tbsp - Ghee
  • salt

How to Make Moong Poha

  • Soak moong overnight.
  • Drain and put the moong in a wet muslin cloth to sprout - sprout them well.
  • Clean wash and drain the poha.
  • Keep it for 1/2 hr to soften.
  • Grind the onions, tomatoes, ginger, green chilly and garlic to a fine paste.
  • Fry and powder the cardamom and cloves.
  • Heat oil, add the ground masala and fry well.
  • When the oil separates add ghee.
  • When ghee melts, add poha and salt.
  • Mix well. Add sprouted gram.
  • Mix well and cook for 2 mins.
  • Take off the fire.
  • Add peanut powder, grated coconut, finely chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves.
  • Mix well add the powdered spices.
  • Serve hot with fried papads.
