Ingredients

  • 250 g- Sprouted Moong
  • 2 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 150 g- Finely chopped Onions
  • Milk of 1 coconut (Freshly made)
  • 4 tsp - Tamarind pulp (thick)
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as needed

How to Make Moong (Sprouted Moong) Birdhe

  • Peel the sprouted moong.
  • Mix the moong, garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and onion together in a bowl.
  • Do not add salt.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan.
  • Add the mixture and saute on a low flame, till the moong softens; but do not cook completely.
  • Now, add the coconut milk, tamarind pulp and salt.
  • Bring to boil and cook the moong fully.
  • Add coriander and bring to boil for another two minutes.
  • Serve hot with chapattis and rice.
