Ingredients

  • ?cup - tuar dal
  • 3 big onions
  • 4 to 5 tbsp - ghee
  • 14 to 15 flakes garlic
  • ?tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt to taste

How to Make Mori Dal

  • Wash and soak the tuar dal for an hour.
  • Finely slice the onions.
  • Coarsely grind the garlic.
  • Keep the dal to boil.
  • Remove the frost that comes to the surface.
  • After a boil add salt to taste and turmeric powder.
  • Cook on a low flame till the dal is soft. Churn the dal.
  • Heat ghee in a small kadhai, and fry the onions on a low flame till golden.
  • Add half of the fried onions to the dal and mix well.
  • In a ladle, heat a tbsp of ghee and saute the garlic on a low flame for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the rest of the fried onions and saute for a couple of seconds.
  • Add this to the dal and mix well.
  • Boil the dal for 5 minutes and serve hot.
