Ingredients

  • 1 - shevto (mullet)
  • 1 - fresh Coconut
  • For grinding:
  • 6 - dry Red Chillies
  • 1 - Turmeric
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • For mincing:
  • 3 - Onions
  • 4 - Green chillies
  • 6 flakes - Garlic
  • 2 - Tomatoes
  • 1 inch - Ginger
  • A few sprigs - Coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Mullet Stew:

    1. Wash the fish, cut and keep aside.
    2. Mix all the ingredients and grind into a fine paste.
    3. Mix all the other ingredients to mince.
    4. Grind the coconut and extract the thick and thin juice.
    5. Warm some ghee in a pot, add sliced onion and fry.
    6. Add the ground masala and fry, add the minced masala and cook.
    7. Add the thin juice of the coconut, vinegar and salt to taste, and cook till the onions are soft.
    8. Add the fish and cook for about ten minutes.
    9. Add the thick coconut juice and boil for five minutes.
