Ingredients

  • 1 kg - chicken, cut into four pieces
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp - Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp - Yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp - dry roasted and pounded Garam Masala
  • 4 medium-sized onions, made into a paste
  • 1 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1.5 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 to 3 Cloves garlic, crushed
  • A pinch of any food colour
  • Oil for cooking
  • Salt to taste
  • For the garnish :
  • 6 to 7 cashew nuts, roasted
  • A few sprigs coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Fresh Cream
  • How to Make Murg Lazeez Nijami:

    1. Mix all the ingredients except the chicken, oil and the crushed garlic.
    2. Marinate the chicken pieces overnight in this mixture and add 1 tsp of oil.
    3. Heat the oil in a kadai and add the crushed garlic.
    4. Add the marinated chicken and stir thoroughly.
    5. Cover and allow to cook on low heat for 45 minutes.
    6. Keep stirring at regular intervals.
    7. Remove from heat and garnish with the roasted cashewnuts, coriander leaves and fresh cream.
