Ingredients

  • 1 kg - chicken, cut into four pieces
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp - Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp - Yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp - dry roasted and pounded Garam Masala
  • 4 medium-sized onions, made into a paste
  • 1 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1.5 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 to 3 Cloves garlic, crushed
  • A pinch of any food colour
  • Oil for cooking
  • Salt to taste
  • For the garnish :
  • 6 to 7 cashew nuts, roasted
  • A few sprigs coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Fresh Cream

How to Make Murg Lazeez Nijami

  • Mix all the ingredients except the chicken, oil and the crushed garlic.
  • Marinate the chicken pieces overnight in this mixture and add 1 tsp of oil.
  • Heat the oil in a kadai and add the crushed garlic.
  • Add the marinated chicken and stir thoroughly.
  • Cover and allow to cook on low heat for 45 minutes.
  • Keep stirring at regular intervals.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with the roasted cashewnuts, coriander leaves and fresh cream.
