  • 2 cup - Murmura (Puffed rice)
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Green chillies
  • 1/2 to 1 bunch - Coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp Grated Coconut
  • 4 tbsp Fried Channa Dal
  • 1/4 ball size Tamarind juice
  • Seasoning:
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Jeera
  • Curry leaves
  • Red Chilli (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Murmura Snack:

    1. Soak Murmura in water for about 10 mins and drain.
    2. Chop onions into small pieces and keep aside.
    3. Grind together green chillies, coriander leaves, grated coconut and fried channa dal without any water.
    4. Take oil in a kadai and when it is hot, put the seasoning items. After they splutter, add onions and saute them well till they are golden brown.
    5. Now add the ground powder and fry for 1 minute.
    6. Add salt and turmeric powder to the mixture. Fry it for 2 mins.
    7. Now add the drained Murmura and tamarind juice.
    8. Mix it well so that the murmura gets coated well with the powder. Add a little more oil if necessary.
    9. Close the lid and cook for 5 mins.
    10. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
