Ingredients

  • button mushrooms, chopped - 200 gm
  • Broccoli - 75 gm
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • vegetable or Chicken stock 1 litre
  • Onion - ½ cup, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 tsp, chopped
  • cumin powder -½ tsp
  • black pepper powder -½ tsp
  • chili powder -½ tsp
  • Bay Leaf 1
  • salt to taste

How to Make Mushroom and Broccoli Shorba

  • Melt butter and fry onion and garlic till fragrant.
  • Add all the powders, bay leaf, mushroom, stock and salt.
  • Simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Cool the mixture and blend till smooth.
  • Heat the shorba and grate the green part of broccoli into it.
  • Simmer for 5 more minutes.
  • Serve hot.
