Ingredients

  • Button Mushroom - 500 g, sliced
  • Coconut Milk - 200 ml
  • Tamarind - 2 cm ball
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed - 1 tsp
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Roasted Peanuts - 3 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 3 to 4, chopped
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic - 8 flakes, crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Mushrooms in Coconut Milk:

    1. Grind tamarind, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, mustard, peanuts and green chillies to prepare a smooth paste.
    2. Heat oil in a kadai.
    3. Add garlic and fry until brown.
    4. Add the paste and fry until you can smell the fragrance.
    5. Add the mushrooms, salt and 1/2 cup of water.
    6. Simmer for 3-4 mins.
    7. Add coconut milk.
    8. Bring to a boil and remove from the flame.
    9. Serve hot with steamed rice.
