Ingredients

  • 5 cups - Bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup - Butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tsp - Cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tbsp - Cornflour Corn starch
  • 4 - Eggs, beaten
  • 1 tbsp - Lemon essence, Lemon zest
  • 3 tbsp - Lime Juice
  • 4 cups - Milk scalded
  • 1 tbsp - Nutmeg powder
  • 1 cup - Raisins
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar
  • 1 cup - Hot water.

How to Make Must-eat Bread Pudding

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In the meanwhile spray an 8x11 inch casserole with a nonstick spray.
  • Then combine the bread cubes, 1 cup sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and the raisins in a large bowl.
  • In another bowl, blend the milk, melted butter, and eggs.
  • Now mix the all the ingredients together and pour the mixture into the casserole dish.
  • Then pour hot water into a baking pan and place the casserole dish in it about 1/3 up the side of the casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Now in a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, 1 cup hot water, 2 tbsps butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  • Cook on medium heat until it thickens.
  • Stir continously to avoid scorching.
  • Serve with the bread pudding.
