Ingredients

  • mutton - 1 kg, cut into 4 cm cubes
  • onion - 1 cup, thinly sliced
  • garlic - 3 tbsp, chopped
  • mustard seeds - 3 tbsp
  • vinegar - 50 ml
  • ginger - 1 tbsp, chopped
  • curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • green chillies - 4
  • oil - 5 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • mint leaves - 2 tbsp
  • coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • lime 1
  • salt to taste

How to Make Mustard Garlic Mutton

  • Grind garlic, mustard, ginger, curry leaves and green chillies with vinegar to a paste.
  • Rub this paste on mutton pieces with salt to taste.
  • Keep covered in refrigerator overnight.
  • Heat oil in a thick fry pan (preferably non-stick) and fry onion till light brown.
  • Add mutton with the marinade.
  • Cover and simmer till the mutton is cooked.
  • Serve hot with rice or Chapattis.
