Ingredients

  • 2 cups - paneer, cubed
  • 1 cup - boiled peas
  • 1/2 cup - Tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup - Cream
  • 2-3 - ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 - large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric
  • Few sprigs of Cilantro for garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - Honey
  • To be ground into paste:
  • 2-3 - Cloves
  • 1 inch - gingerroot, peeled and chopped
  • 2-3 - Green chillies (or as per taste)
  • 1 tbsp - cashews
  • 1 tbsp - Poppy Seeds
  • 1 tsp - cumin
  • How to Make Muttar Paneer:

    1. Fry the paneer cubes till golden brown.
    2. Remove and drop them in a bowl of water.
    3. This way the excess oil floats to the top and the paneer also gets soft. Remove and set aside.
    4. In a skillet add 1/2 tsp oil and add the ground paste to it.
    5. Once the raw smell is replaced by aroma, add the onions and saute for 3-5 min till they get soft.
    6. Add the tomatoes and stir until soft.
    7. Then add the puree, peas, cream, honey and the spices and stir for another 5 min.
    8. You can add water if you prefer gravy consistency.
    9. When it starts boiling, add the paneer and cook for another 5-10 mins.
    10. Serve warm garnished with cilantro.
