Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - Mutton
  • A bunch of coriander (more than a handful, well chopped)
  • 4-5 - Red Chillies
  • 1 tbsp - pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 - Onions
  • 1 -tomato
  • 3-4 - Potatoes
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Mutton Dish (Phaal):

    1. Pressure cook the mutton for 3-4 whistles. Keep aside. Heat oil and fry the onions for a while. Then add ginger-garlic paste and fry a little longer.
    2. Make a paste out of coriander, red chillies, pepper powder, tomato and fried onions (from step 1 ).
    3. Take a wok, add the paste and heat well. Keep stirring until paste thickens and raw smell disappears.
    4. Add some water and mutton pieces along with potatoes and cook for 20 mins.
    5. Stir once in a while and add water if you require a little extra gravy.
