Ingredients

  • 750 g - mutton chops
  • 15 peppercorns (coarsely ground)
  • 1 big lemon juice
  • 2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 1.5 piece ginger (crushed)
  • 5 green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • handful coriander leaves ( finely chopped)
  • 10 to 12 mint leaves ( finely chopped)
  • 1.5 cups - water
  • 6 tbsp - oil
  • salt to taste
  • finely chopped coriander leaves (to garnish)

How to Make Mutton Pepper Chops

  • Clean and wash the mutton chops.
  • Marinate the mutton chops in coarsely ground peppercorns, lemon juice and salt. Keep aside for two hours.
  • Heat oil in a heavy bottomed kadai. Add onions and fry till pink.
  • Add the tomatoes and cook till they are soft.
  • Add the mutton chops, salt, chopped coriander and mint leaves. Mix well.
  • Saute on a low flame till oil separates. Add water.
  • Cook covered with a lid having water on it. Cook on a low flame.
  • Mix at regular intervals. Cook till the mutton is tender and the water dried.
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
