Ingredients

  • Mutton - 1 kg
  • Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tbsps
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • 2 tbsp - chopped coriander
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 sprig - curry leaves
  • 2 - large onions finely sliced
  • 4 - green chillies, deseeded and cut lengthwise
  • 1 - 2 inch piece of ginger (julienned)
  • 6 tbsps - oil
  • To grind:
  • 2 tbsps - pepper corns
  • 1 tbsp - saunf

How to Make Mutton Pepper Fry

  • Pressure cook mutton with ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, curry leaves and salt to taste.
  • Cook for 30 mins on a low flame.
  • Remove from heat and let the cooker cool.
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter the mustard and curry leaves.
  • Then add the finely sliced onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Add green chillies and ginger. Fry on low flame for 2 mins.
  • Add the cooked mutton with the stock and mix well. Simmer till the stock is absorbed and the pan is dry.
  • Sprinkle the ground pepper-saunf mix. Stir.
  • Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
