Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Mutton
  • For Seasoning:
  • 3 tsp - Ghee
  • A few Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 - onion, finely sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • For Vindaloo Masala:
  • (Grind these ingredients to a smooth paste) 3 tsp - Jeera
  • 12 - dry Kashmiri chillies
  • 1/2 inch - Turmeric
  • 2 pods - Cardamom
  • 10 pods - Garlic
  • 2 tbsp - Vinegar
  • How to Make Mutton Vindaloo (Gravy):

    1. Wash the mutton and cut into bite-sized pieces.
    2. Grind masala in vinegar.
    3. Fry sliced onion until it turns brown.
    4. Add coriander leaves and stir. Then add masala and saute.
    5. Add meat and salt to taste.
    6. Cover the dish. Allow the meat to cook in its own gravy.
    7. Stir frequently, so that it does burn.
    8. Boil the potatoes, peel and cut into fours.
    9. Add them to the meat.
    10. Simmer for 10 mins.
    11. Serve with plain white rice.
