  • raw Rice - 1 cup
  • par boiled Rice - 1 cup
  • black gram (urad) dal - ½ cup
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1 tbsp
  • curds - ½ cup
  • Turmeric powder -½ tsp
  • cooking soda - ½ tsp
  • oil to cook dosas
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Mysore Methi Dosa:

    1. Wash and soak both the rice and dal together for 2-3 hours.
    2. Soak fenugreek seeds in curd
    3. Grind the rice and dal with curd and fenugreek to a smooth batter.
    4. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and keep covered overnight (consistency is like usual dosa batter).
    5. Next morning mix in the soda.
    6. Heat a dosa pan, and brush with little oil.
    7. Pour a ladle of batter and spread very lightly.
    8. (This dosa is thicker than usual dosa).
    9. Cover and cook till the underside is done.
    10. Turn over the dosa, cook briefly and remove.
    11. Serve hot with chutney and/or sambar.
